Favorite Childhood Christmas Gift
When you are growing up, one of the ultimate days you look forward to is Christmas. All year long, you decide on what gifts you think would be perfect and go to sleep dreaming about these items. Sometimes the perfect gift is not even one you thought of yourself, but something that your parents know you will enjoy. These gifts make you think about Christmas. What is that gift that warms your heart?
It intrigues me how memories work and are imprinted in our brain. The best memories are established with all the senses involved. Christmas is one of those times that memories are established in your brain so vividly. One year I received a gift that I wanted but did not expect to receive. I can remember this Christmas morning like it just happened yesterday that is how impactful it was to me.
I received a Michael Jackson doll.
Here is a picture of my doll today. Yes, I still have the doll in my home office…….I am sentimental that way.
I was such a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up. My father was into Motown and played music throughout my youth. Even watching this commercial, a smile comes on my face.
