Four reasons you should plan
Personal Development
Plan: a method of achieving an end (Merriam-Webster)
Four reasons you should plan
ONE
You can not afford to NOT plan your life, your day, your finances, your family.
Have you ever heard the statement that if you do not plan your day, someone else or something else will plan it for you?
It is so important that you are who plans your life.
Do not allow others to do that for you. This is a challenge. I sometimes feel like I am living for my family or for my job.
You have to take time and determine what is your plan for today.
TWO
You set your intention for your day.
You can find information about setting your intention all over the internet. You can also find information about creating your environment. Another topic that is popular is how to remain positive in all situations.
A planner can assist you with all of this.
What are you working towards?
What do you want to get out of your day, week, month?
A planner helps you focus on your goals. Your planner creates a vision of your daily routine. This lets you see what you can do to improve this routine to effect how you navigate life.
THREE
You will not forget about important events.
This is not to insult you, but we can not rely on our mind to remember everything!
Let me be honest: I have attempted to do this. I have missed more than one thing by doing this. Not small things that are irrelevant to my life. Important events: parent- teacher conferences, tutoring appointments, board meetings to name a few.
In my own head, I knew that I would remember these things without a reminder on my calendar.
Why did I do that to myself? Because I thought I could do it all. We all know how that turned out: I forgot……
A planner allows you to free up brain space.
Focus on the parts of your life that matter……..appointments will still be available in your planner for you to review as needed.
FOUR
Individuals who plan accomplish their goals faster than those who do not.
Keeping track of your daily plans keeps you focused. Looking at your long term plans daily amplifies your focus. You achieve future plans much quicker with laser focus.
You can not run from yourself or procrastinate from tasks.
They are there looking back at you everyday; waiting for you to check them off, go to the meeting, eat the frog.
Remember to be you, be focused, and be well.
