What are you looking forward to in the next 30 days?

What are you looking forward to in the next 30 days?

Prompt #3: November 6, 2021

The next 30 days will be exciting. I have that expectation for great things and exciting happening! We are currently in the fall season leading towards the transition to the winter holiday. Things for my family remain slightly altered, but events are slowly coming back into our routine. We still have many traditions that we participate in each year with our immediate family that have continued.

The next 30 days contains Thanksgiving and I am looking forward to all that comes with that day. The slowing down. The breaks from school and work.

Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday since I was growing up as it contains much anticipation of what is still to come with Christmas. There is a lot of prepping and planning that goes into that time, which I enjoy so much as well.

I am looking forward to seeing what our Thanksgiving reality becomes this year. We usually are with my husband’s family to celebrate this day. Plans largely depend on what his mother wants to do with everyone. Last year was very muted which I enjoyed as well. Since I categorize myself as an introvert, I relish in small gatherings even more that larger ones.  Sometimes Thanksgiving is filled with grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends. And a lot of catching up and planning for more events.

I am looking forward to spending quality time with my family with no deadlines. When we are in the time leading up to Thanksgiving, there are Christmas traditions that begin. Like the Hallmark movie watching, which my son loves to do with me. The list making for gifts. The crating and cooking for enjoyment. And the decorating. I enjoy decorating and making our home festive. My children now really get involved as well.

The next 30 days will leave me with a lot to be grateful for as we have had many changes since last year at this time, so new traditions can be create and performed along with events from previous years that still leave me with a smile.
